This 12x12ft HO scale proto-freelance design covers several prototype locations and how they were compressed to fit the space available.
A proto-freelance layout based on the Monterey Branch of the Southern Pacific Railroad. The layout is set in modern day, despite the SP closing it in the 70s, and the track plan is from the heyday of railroading.
This design packs a punch when it comes to the amount of switching that fits on a shelf layout, whilst not compromising on a realistic look, and feel. It includes staging that doubles as a main staging and interchange staging.
The design is meant to be mature and easy to build. Whilst providing plenty of operating fun. A design with a little bit of everything. Ideal for beginners or if you just want....EVERYTHING!
